Aurora was waiting for him. Travis came to his full angelic form as he arrived at the gates of Heaven. He flexed his wings and drew a deep breath the cool and fragrant air relaxing him.
“Sunshine, you have come…” The Chief Guardian Angel actually sounded surprised.
Travis lifted his eyebrows. “Did you not send a summons? I heard my name.”
Aurora smiled, “I did…but I was not sure you would respond.”
Travis frowned, wondering what could have caused her thoughts to stray that way. He would always come when called.
Aurora’s brow creased slightly. “The game…”
Ah. “Has ended. We won. I did well enough.” Travis smiled no arrogance in the expression.
“That is good…”
Travis nodded then crossed his arms an expectant look on his face.
“So, what have I been called for?”
Aurora bit at her lip. “I do not know, I was just given the command to bring you back…”
Travis sighed. “Must mean the Almighty has a new assignment for me…”
Aurora shook her head. “I would never second guess my Lord.”
“True…whereas considering my nature I always second guess Him.”
“You are no longer the Dark One…”
Travis smirked. “Is that why you refuse to call me Azael?”
“Sunshine fits better these days…”
Travis nodded in agreement. Then he scanned the wide white expanse. Michael appeared looking out of sorts, which tended to be the way with the big warrior these days. Especially if it had anything to do concerning Travis…
“Azael…”
Travis rolled his eyes. “Didn’t you get the Sunshine memo?”
Michael glared at him. “You need to focus, Azael.”
Travis blinked. “Excuse me?”
“All this drama down on earth is not doing you any good. You need to pull yourself together.”
Travis bowed his head, closing his eyes and murmuring in agreement. “I know…”
Michael clapped a reassuring grip to his big shoulder and squeezed. “Your chambers are ready within…” He looked over at Aurora. “Make sure no one disturbs him.”
The female bowed her head, but paused. “What if his female…”
Michael’s mouth twitched as he glanced at Travis. “Nisiel will be the only one granted access…”
Travis nodded then turned to head toward his chambers.
